Grocery Day - February 17

I really don't have much to blog about today. We did not get started at our usual time because I had to take Sheila for a foot procedure before I went shopping.

I met Jo Faye at the gas pumps at Sam's. I was about finished forcing as much as I possibly could in my car when she drove up. She got out and started entering her card, etc. and then pumping her gas. There was a man next to her who pulled up and was preparing to pump his gas and was making a beeping noise because he was entering some numbers. Jo Faye started saying "whats that beeping noise"? I said, its the man behind you but she continued to ask what it was so I just went and got in my car!!!

We then drove to Wal Mart and parked. I got out and was waiting for her to get out wondering why it was taking her soooo long. She finally motioned for me to come there so I walked over to her car - she put the window down and said "I can't get out of my seat belt". I said "WHAT"? She said, "Your going to have to help me" - I thought, what am I going to do? I went around and got in on the passenger side and sat down. I looked at the seat belt lock and she was just about to push it again when it came loose. I just got out - I told her the only thing I knew I could do would be go in to Wal Mart and ask for a pair of scissors and cut her out. LOL. She said she would have had to drive to the Mazda dealer and see if they could help her. I am so thankful we did not have to do either.

The rest of our shopping was pretty good. I lost my pen in Wal Mart and borrowed one from her when we got to HEB but just as we were picking up the last items I noticed I only had the lid of her pen. I had lost the bottom. Oh well, what can I say.

We survived!!!! Had a few laughs - so it was a good day.

REACHED THE SUMMIT!!!

I really don't need to share this with everyone but I told Jo Faye I thought I would anyway.

I had an appointment at 7:00 a.m. this morning for a mamogram. I mean this is routine, you know once a year thing. Well, anyway, I walked up to the machine and the screener, or whatever her title is started raising the machine then she decided she needed to lower it. You know age, etc. Well, the next thing, she asked me if I could get my belly out of the picture on each side. I was just insulted. I know I have this roll, but to be told it was interferring with the pictures was too much. I did not know whether to laugh or cry. LOL.

Now to prove my point, yesterday, when I got home from Church - I decided to have a Lean Cuisine. I followed the instructions by taking the tray out of the carton and placing it in the oven. I then, without realizing, started the microwave for 4 minutes. When the bell rang, I was shocked when I opened the door and my dinner was not there - suddenly I remembered I had put it in the oven. Of course, I had not turned the oven on. The instructions were to cook in the microwave so why I put it in the oven (must have been a senior moment)LOL.

My next surprise was getting ready for Sunday evening service, touching up my face with powder, etc. I have a gold small can of Hydration which I spray on my face to set the powder. Somehow, I picked up the same size can except it was silver and sprayed my face all over. All of a sudden I realized I had just sprayed my face with lens cleaner. I called Jo Faye told her what happened and then went on to Church. She told me my face looked good - didn't have any wrinkles. LOL - I accidentally found the fountain of youth. LOL.

Well, I hope all of you have a good week! I hope my mind catches up with me soon. LOL.

Catching Up

I was talking to Jo Faye this morning and decided I needed to go back and bring you all up to date on earlier incidents while we were shopping.

We had just finished shopping at Wal Mart and was heading to HEB. Well, when we got there, Jo Faye discovered she only had one glove. Needless to say I am sure she worried about that glove during our shopping in HEB. When we finished, she said she wanted to drive back to Wal Mart and see if she could fine it. I was just beside myself!! We had already been to 3 stores and I thought we were through and heading home but no I could not let her go back by herself and look so I took off and headed to Wal Mart. I knew where she had parked and turned the corner to see a large pickup parked where she had been. I slowed down and looked and right under their left front tire I saw a black glove. I motioned for her to go around me and I got out and retrieved the glove. She was so happy. It was a little dirty from that truck running over it but at least it was not under the tire so I was able to get it.

Okay, ready, here we go - about two weeks ago we were at Wal Mart and started our rounds. I was going in one direction and she was headed to the pharmacy, I think. I asked her if she had her phone and was it on? She said "Yes", then reached for the phone which was suppose to be attached to her waistband but was not. Oh wow, now what!! If we got separated we never would fine each other so we had to go around together which was fine but then again she knew she had put that phone on and she thought when I handed her a piece of salmon (which was frozen) that I had ordered from Vital Choice, that she might have twisted and the phone fell in the truck. When we finished our shopping much later, and checked out, we started to our vehicles. I was getting in mine when I looked up and she was just a smiling looking over the top of the truck with her hand held in the air with her phone. I said, "where was it"? and she said "it was on the ground". She was really lucky no one took it. Then on the way to HEB!!!

Okay, we went to Church Sunday night and discovered that a Financial Planner was holding a meeting in our usual room that we meet in. The doors were opened and all these people were in there and we (Jo Faye, Ruby Hazel, and me) were trying to figure out what to do. In the mean time Jo Faye apparently had eaten beans earlier and made this awful rumble and Ruby Hazel and I took off down the hall to look for another room I turned around when I heard the noise and Jo Faye was just laughing. I was just shocked to say the least!!! When we got to the room, Ruby Hazel and I sat on the side in front and Jo Faye sat across from us on the front row. LOL.

We really have some funny, funny, times but I wouldn't trade them for anything. I told Jo Faye that she was responsible for bringing me back to God and that she would have a pearl on the gate to Heaven and she said "that will probably be the only one". I dont't think so. She has and does live a beautiful Christian life and I am so proud she is my sister. I always wanted to be like her and maybe I will become more like her as time goes on. I pray I do.

Grocery Baskets

Those are, I believe, unique to HEB! LOL. Jo Faye just loves them. She always drives one around - I normally use the regular size myself.

We did not go shopping today because Jo Faye is under the weather. I believe she has had a light case of the flu. She is feeling better but I encouraged her to stay in the rest of the week until Sunday.

I just asked her "where was the beef?" and she said, "she could not afford the beef"!

I hope Hat is feeling better and the rest of yall don't get it.
